
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco, an American professional soccer player, is a striker with San Diego Wave FC (NWSL) which is the top level of women's soccer in United States. She also co-captained the United States women's soccer team between 2018 and 2020 with Megan Rapinoe as well as Carli Lloyd. [8][9] Morgan was chosen as the top pick in the Western New York Flash's 2011 WPS Draft shortly after she was able to graduate early from University of California, Berkeley. Morgan played for the California Golden Bears. She made her debut at the club and helped the team win their league championship. Morgan was just 22 at the time and was one of the youngest players on the national team for the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The team came in second. At the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the match-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final game against Canada. She was the second player in the United States to score 21 assists and 20 goals in 2012, which made her the sixth-highest scoring player in the United States to achieve 20 goals in one year. She was awarded the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year and she was also named a FIFA World Player of the Years finalist. Morgan was also instrumental in the United States winning their titles at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups and the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was named to both the Dream Team for both tournaments. In 2019, she was awarded the Silver Boot.
