tito ortizJacob Christopher "Tito" Ortiz born on January 23, 1975) is an American mixed martial artist and politician. He is currently a Combate Americas promotee. Ortiz is well-known for his stints with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) where he was a former Light Heavyweight Champion, having held the title since April 14th, 2000 to September 26, 2003. He was the first to enter the sport alongside fighters like Randy Couture or Chuck Liddell. Ortiz was the most lucrative pay per view star of 2006 thanks to his battles with Forrest Griffin, Ken Shamrock Ortiz and Liddell.
